Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to all publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged children.

This additional funding is used by the Academy to address any underlying inequalities for eligible pupils by increasing social mobility, enabling pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds to achieve high academic standards and to close the attainment gap with the outcomes of those who are not eligible.

The team at Newlands is committed to eliminating the gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers and the Pupil Premium is essential to this.

As a designated EEF (Education Endowment Foundation) Research School within TKAT Multi-Academy Trust, Hampshire Research School are uniquely positioned to lead evidence-informed change across our educational community.

We have launched a comprehensive, rolling programme of strategic support specifically designed to refine and enhance Pupil Premium (PP) strategies. By the conclusion of 2027, this ambitious initiative will have provided all 29 primary schools in our trust with a profound, research-driven depth of learning.

Our core mission is to empower leaders and teachers with the expertise required to close the attainment gap and significantly improve life outcomes for socio-economically disadvantaged children.
